This could lead to a ‘flight to quality’ in food industry M&A where the most desirable targets can command high valuations, while others at the lower end of the market may have to adjust their pricing expectations to get deals done, if they can be done at all. We would also likely see deal structures with more contingent consideration and more rigorous and lengthy due diligence processes.”
